"I'm a busy mom with a full-time job and four very active children. My oldest daughter injured her knee playing sports. I took her to the OrthoQuick and we were seen in less than 15 minutes. We were treated with kindness and compassion. Overall we received exceptional care and I'd like to thank MTBJ for providing a place like OrthoQuick. I've had to use it twice now and I can tell you it's a real life saver for busy moms and their families." - Renee Martin

I fell off my horse during a show jumping competition and knew immediately I had done something to my knee. I ignored it for a couple of weeks, but since it kept “giving away” with me I decided to go to the Bone and Joint Clinic. After an MRI, Dr. Adams confirmed I had torn my ACL. He told me he didn’t usually operate on patients my age (I was 50!) I replied, “That’s not an option! I train and show horses, play softball (I have since retired), and run half marathons.”

Dr. Adams agreed to do surgery. I now have a donor ACL. After three months of therapy, which was murder, I was running again. I rode before that. Shhh! don’t tell Doc. I continue to ride five times a week and show my horses. I’ve finished five half marathons and I have forgotten which knee was operated on! I received the best of care and advise, was dedicated to physical therapy, and I am thankful that Dr. Adams gave me back the quality of life I needed to continue my sports “hobbies.”

After suffering a stress fracture in my left hip in September of 2009, I returned to the same Orthopedic doctor in Nashville who had previously done a knee replacement for me. He suggested that we let it heal on it’s own without a treatment plan implemented. The next four months brought great pain and mobility only by using a walker. Four months later it apparently was not going to heal on it’s; own so the doctor surgically implanted three screws to close the fracture. Four months later, and still in excruciating pain, I was told by the doctor that it may never heal.

That is when I stayed “home” and came to Mid-Tennessee Bone & Joint Clinic. Dr. Davidson patiently listened to my complaint and readily diagnosed the problem. He initiated a minimally invasive treatment process that ended 10 days later with me walking out of the office completely pain free and with total mobility which I still enjoy to this day.

I still have the walker, but I now use it to hang shop cloths on in my workshop.

After determining I would be a good candidate for knee replacement, Dr. Wade performed my surgery. He explained everything that would be done during; my surgery in a way that I understood it and then again the day of the surgery. Dr. Wade consistently visited me while in the hospital/rehab and was always cheerful, answering all of my questions and concerns.

My knee surgery and rehab were successful and helped improve my overall quality of life. Thank you to all the staff at MTBJ for being so professional and caring. We are fortunate to have MTBJ in Columbia and don’t know why anyone would want to go anywhere else for their orthopedic needs. I have and will continue to recommend you to anyone.

Derek HunterThe week before Thanksgiving two years ago, I was playing basketball with some friends and sometime during our game, I felt a pop in my knee and I could not put any weight on it. I went to Ortho Quick at Mid-Tennessee Bone& Joint Clinic the next day. I was given immediate care and treated wonderfully. After my initial assessment & MRI, Dr. McCall explained that I had a meniscus tear that would require surgery. My surgery went great and I was walking the next day. Since then, I have resumed all activities including sports. Thank you for amazing care.

Sheila HickmanMy experience with Mid-Tennessee Bone and Joint Clinic has been very positive. I have received attention to my aging knees, and I was very pleased with the promptness and concern.

As a member of the patients' advisory committee to the Clinic, I am very impressed with the desire of their entire staff to provide excellent services to their patients. During the regular meetings both staff and physicians discuss what kind of improvements might be made from the waiting room to the operating room.

The willingness of the staff and physicians to listen to concerns from patients denotes their dedication to their profession and to the community.
